The One whose heart I constantly break, loves me completely and wholly. His love can’t be withdrawn. I look inward and am ashamed at what I see. I look to the cross and see the necessity of His sacrifice. I look to You God and am in awe. Your gift of Christ surpasses logic and understanding. It has grabbed my heart and shaken it, softened it, set it free and sealed it.

The thought that I belong  to You brings me to my knees. I am your possession. How. Why. In Your grace and mercy you saved me. Safe in the palm of your hand.

“Who am I that the eyes that see my sin, would look on me with love and watch me rise again”.

May everyone hear about You. May everyone see You not through the eyes of religion or tradition but for who You are. Thanks for giving us the bible, Your words, that we might know You more.

for what purpose

We have so many different agendas, resolutions, goals, reasons we are so busy…He has one. A single prevailing purpose that underpins everything He does. The most extraordinary act of love, mercy and justice history has ever seen occurred in the life, death and ressurection of Jesus. It cost Jesus to die, for us to be made right. Bur for what purpose have we been made right?

“For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.  But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments” (Deut 7:6-9)

“…that you may love the Lord your God, that you may cling to Him for He is your life and the length  of your days” (Deut 30:20)

Four words stand out. They are constantly repeated as God guides His people in the Old Testament. “The Lord your God”.

1. He is Lord “one having all power and authority”…over all the world.  2. Not only that but He is YOUR God.

The Lord…YOUR God!!

His purpose is that those who love Jesus and respond to Him in faith be His people and He be their God. That they might love Him with all their hearts. That He be their God. And in Jesus He made this possible.

This truth amazes me. That as I live, go to Uni, hang with friends, choose a career, or a job, play sport…in all this activity, His purpose remains constant and unchanging… that He be my God and I be His child. How my attention would change if I truly lived with this in mind.

“The Lord…your God.”

“Not because of who I am but because of what you’ve done. Not because of what I’ve done but because of who You are”

You humble and amaze me God.

Jesus

You came to me in my doubt, however small, you struck me again with what took place when Your Son went to the cross. People can disprove religion…it is in fact easy to see that it is man made. But you can’t disprove Jesus. He didn’t come to start a religion…He came to establish a relationship. Whenever I doubt I am again convinced not by a philosophical idea or concept but by a person, Jesus Christ , who showed Himself to be God. I read His words, eye witness accounts of His actions, His humility and compassion and divine power. I cannot move my gaze past Him. My eyes are fixed. He is the way, the truth and the life.
